Brands Fitness – Information about Ashwagandha
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is an herb used in Ayurveda, the traditional practice of medicine in India. Its root has the smell of a horse (in Sanskrit, ashva means “horse” and gandha means “smell”) and is said to give vitality and virility to a horse. Several parts of the plant are used, but the most common in supplements is an extract from its roots.
What are the health benefits of using Ashwagandha?
Several tests suggest that it has anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects; investigations mainly support a notable effect of ashwagandha for this purpose and appear to decrease cortisol levels. However, more research is needed before we have an ideal confidence or know the perfect dose. Ashwagandha can also decrease insomnia, fatigue and symptoms of depression, but it has not been well researched for these purposes.
It may increase potency in untrained individuals during the level of resistance exercise and anaerobic work, but this visualization is based on a small amount of research and more is needed. It can lead to small reductions in blood glucose, blood pressure and LDL-cholesterol, while slightly increasing HDL-cholesterol. In addition, it can modestly double the quality of testosterone and sperm in infertile men.
Are there any side effects and disadvantages of Ashwagandha?
It seems to be safe, but it needs more long-term analysis, specially designed to consider its security. It can cause mild drowsiness and sedation for some people.
Can I take Ashwagandha daily?
It is difficult to answer that question because we currently do not have much important information in the long term from clinical trials. Due to its possible drug-like effects on neurotransmission, it is difficult to rule out unwanted side results or loss of potency in the long run. However, studies of things that generally suggest that Ashwagandha’s stress / anxiety problems continually improve for at least two months after starting daily supplementation. In addition, studies use Ashwagandha daily, and if a study finds influence, the best way to obtain that influence is to imitate the dose and dose schedule in the study. It is not known whether taking breaks in Ashwagandha or on alternate days will have the same side effects.
Production of energy
Improvements in energy production were observed in guided people who were subjected to a speed test and in sedentary people who simply took the supplement, as well as in untrained people who started forced exercise.
There was a significant increase in people with subclinical hypothyroidism in an analysis that used 600 mg of a standardized extract (5% with solids) for 8 weeks.
There was a distinct increase in people with subclinical hypothyroidism in an analysis that used 600 mg of a standardized extract (5% with solids) for 8 weeks.

Ashwagandha advantages for men?
Ashwagandha seems to have advantages specifically for men. These tend to focus on testicular health and fertility, while antistress effects affect both sexes.
